15 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS MUST FOLLOW DURING FABRICATION OF PIPING

Personal as well as environmental safety is important for any workplace. However, you need to take special safety measures in certain industries and related processes. Pipe fabrication is one such process where dealings with heavy-weight machineries, large metal sheets, pipes of various shapes and sizes, etc. are common. Thus, it is imperative to follow certain precautions while fabricating pipes. Following steps act as guide towards the safety precaution.

Here are the 15 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS MUST FOLLOW DURING FABRICATION OF PIPING 

1. DESCON site management system (latest revision) will be implemented. 
2. All personnel involved will use necessary PPE as required.
3. The workers will be made aware of safety requirements related to this activity through daily, weekly and monthly toolbox and safety talks. 
4. Safety notice board will be installed. 
5. All equipment will be inspected by E&P (DESCON) as per routine while execution supervisor should inspect it prior to use. 
6. During transportation of pipes and other fittings, the material shall be properly supported and tied on the Trailer. 
7. Ensure that pipes are properly wedged or blocked to avoid rolling. 
8. Correct rigging procedure should be observed. 
9. Access and good housekeeping should be maintained in all fabrication areas. 
10. Fire extinguisher should be available in all working areas. 
11. Proper storage, handling and use of gas cylinders will be observed. 
12. All cylinders shall be kept in trolleys and in an upright position. 
13. Welding sets should be checked and maintained regularly for wear and tear. 
14. Waste Management should be strictly followed to keep the job site neat and clean. 
15. HSE shall provide due support to the execution team in the fulfillment of HSE requirements.
